Story Behind the Origin of Godavari Rivar
On the occasion of the marriage of Shiva and Parvati, Shri Brahmadev worked as the Erudite/Priest. On the occasion of Saptapad (a custom in Hindi massage), Brihmadev touched the feet of Parvati to put on the grindstone. When Brihmadev touched the soft and faire feet of Parvati. All of a sudden the lust took birth in his mind and at the very moment he discharged the semen from his body. Lest somebody should not look at this semen, Brihmadev could not wipe out the semen and with the sixty thousand molecules, 60,000 sages took birth in form of 60,000 male infants. Feeling very insulted because of all this Brihmadev tried to escape from the marriage place. But already the Lord Shankar had understood why brihmadev was escaping. He prevented Brihmadev and prepared the holy water with all the material of the Earth. Then, Shivaji recited the mantras many times and much more purified the holy water and handed the hand-jug (used by sages) over to brihmaji. He said to Brihmaji—O Brihmaji, now you'll be free from all of your sins and will get the liberation from the lust because this holy water destroys all kinds of sins.
